Cooking in Other Women’s Kitchens: Enslaved Cooks in the Antebellum South

Kelly Sharp is an assistant professor of Africana Studies and history at Luther College.She is a specialist on African American and cultural history with a particular emphasis on slavery and material culture in the nineteenth-century US South. Her book, Provisioning Charleston: Food, Race and Labor in the Antebellum South Carolina Lowcountry, is being published by Cambridge University Press and will be available late in 2020.
